2010/2011 District Rate

Councillor Paul Givan, Chairman of Lisburn City Council's Corporate Services Committee and Mr Colin McClintock, Director of Corporate Services, promote that the Council has set the second lowest increase in its rates for the financial year 2010/11, across all 26 Councils.Lisburn City Council has struck its District Rate for the financial year 2010/2011 at 18.4770p in the £ for the Non Domestic District Rate, an increase of 0.3590p in the £ or 1.98% and 0.2421p in the £ for the Domestic District Rate (domestic properties)an increase of 0.0047p in the £ or 1.98%.

How to calculate your rates bill 
    
Your rates bill is made up of two elements
    
1 - District Rate - set by the Council 
2 - Regional Rate - set by the Government
    
these two elements are added together and multiplied by the NAV
(Net Annual Value) of your property - this is shown on your current rates bill, for example
