THE RIGHT WORSHIPFUL THE MAYOR -  ALDERMAN PAUL PORTER

The Right Worshipful the Mayor, Alderman Paul Porter.Councillor Paul Porter (DUP) was elected Mayor of Lisburn City Council at the Council's Annual Meeting on Monday 21st June 2010.

He has represented Lisburn Town South for nine years and is a member of the Democratic Unionist Party.

He is married to Nicola and they have one son, Joshua and one daughter Hollie.

On becoming Mayor Alderman Porter said,

"I am honoured to have been elected Mayor and I am committed to continuing the sterling work of our outgoing Mayor, Councillor Allan Ewart.  I especially want to further develop and promote the importance of volunteering within our communities and continue our support and recognition of the bravery of The Armed Forces overseas.  It is a privilege to be Mayor for this incoming year and I would like to thank everybody, both within the Council and beyond, for their continued support.”

As Mayor, he may sit on all Council Committees and also chairs Monthly Meetings of the Council which normally take place on the last Tuesday of each month. Alderman Porter also represents Lisburn City Council on a number of outside bodies:-

Arc21 Joint Committee (one of two Substitute Nominations)

Safer Lisburn (as Mayor of the Day)

Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Liaison Committee

Ulster Grand Prix Steering Group (as Mayor of the Day)
