Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Brian Heading

Councillor Brian Heading (SDLP) was elected Mayor of Lisburn City Council at the Council's Annual Meeting on Wednesday 25th May 2011.

He has represented Dunmurry Cross for six years and is a member of the Social Democratic & Labour Party.

On becoming Mayor Councillor Heading said:

"During my time in Office as first citizen I intend to work with a variety of organisations in the area of promoting community relations.  I am very committed to working in the area of peace and reconciliation for the benefit of all of the citizens of the City of Lisburn."

As Mayor, he may sit on all Council Committees and also chairs Monthly Meetings of the Council which normally take place on the last Tuesday of each month.
