Irish Football Association Grassroots Development Programme - Lisburn

For several years the IFA has in partnership with Lisburn City Council, provided a varied programme of football development. With an on-site Grassroots Development Officer this program has evolved to ensure that players, coaches, clubs and volunteers have access to a variety of activities throughout the year in order that football can progress in all its facets.

Running for 10 week sessions this activity is open for boys & girls ages 6-14 and is appropriate for all abilities. Coached by IFA qualified staff participants are encouraged to discover and develop their individual skills in a pressure free environment where fun and enjoyment are the key factors. Having spent some time in technical skills all participants are encouraged to take part in small-sided games of 5v5 & 7v7 where they can try out their skills in a game format. Key elements such as agility, balance and coordination are incorporated to underpin activities at Key Stage 1 and 2.

These sessions currently take place at two venues from 5.00pm to 6.00pm and cost £2.00 pp for each session. An enrolment application form can be requested or simply filled in at the venue. The start dates for these sessions and venues are;

Laurelhill Sports Zone Lisburn 24th & 25^th January 2012 for 10 weeks.

Ballinderry Primary School 26^th January 2012 for 10 weeks.
