COMMUNITY SERVICES

The Community Services Section is based within the Bridge Community Centre, Lisburn and provides a vast range of support, information and advice to Community & Voluntary groups operating within the Lisburn City Council Area. 

The section has three objectives;

• To involve people in processes that lead to decisions affecting their lives.
  
• To promote and encourage community development.
  
•  With the assistance of statutory and voluntary agencies to encourage the local community itself to provide services which meet the needs of the people.

Programmes offered through Community Services Section are;

• Community Resource Service
• Bridge Community Centre
• Satellite Centres
• Community Grant Aid
• Community Development

The Bridge Community Centre acts as the hub of the Community Services section  “The Centre aims to provide a one stop shop for all types of community activity”  Services available through the Bridge include;

•   Room Hire
•   Community Transport Scheme   (Community Mini Bus Hire Service)
•   Community Resource Centre    (Printing, Photocopying & Leaflet Design)
•   Grantfinder computer software
•   Kitchen Facilities
•   Summer Scheme

Additionally, the following organisations sub lease the property and rent space on a full time bases.
