TOURISM
Lisburn City Council's Tourism Unit is based at Lagan Valley Island in Lisburn. The Unit has the following responsibilities:
- Promotion of the City, locally, nationally and internationally as a tourism destination
- Development and management of local, regional and national Partnerships
- Development of the tourism industry and product within the City
- Provides a vibrant, dynamic and visually attractive environment in which to live, work, visit and play
- Creates wider economic benefit in the City through sustainable tourism development
- To deliver a quality and customer focused service to all the City's stakeholders
- Brand the City locally, nationally and internationally as a quality destination distinctive from its major competitors.
Lisburn City Council has two Tourist Information Centre's in its City area and they are based in Hillsborough village and Lisburn Square in Lisburn City.

They offer the following Services:
- Free tourist information, explaining Lisburn's award-winning visitor attractions and events
- Free local and national information maps
- An accommodation booking service for visitors
- A Bureau de Change facility for the international traveller
- A 24-hour "touch-screen" information point for the out-of-hours tourist
- An internet kiosk for those wishing to source tourist information on the web
- A retail outlet for locals and visitors alike, selling a wide range of giftware and local crafts/products.
