IMPORTED FOODS

Environmental Health Officers routinely carry out checks in their local area for imported foods.

Foods can be imported into the UK

  1. from EU countries
  2. from "third countries"
  3. personal imports.

If you are planning to travel abroad, you should be aware of what food items you can and cannot bring back into the UK. The rules for imports can be found on www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/illegali
