Your City Council

Lisburn City Council has launched an initiative to educate church organisations on food hygiene and food safety.  This programme will assist church organisations to comply with the current food safety legislation.

The programme, which is provided free of charge by the Environmental Health Service’s Food Control Unit, has already seen 300 volunteers complete the training.

Alderman Paul Porter, Chairman of the Environmental Services Committee, commenting on the programme said: “It is important for anyone involved in food preparation to be fully aware of all aspects of food hygiene, and what is required in terms of  food safety.  The scheme to date has attracted a large number of volunteers and I would encourage all church organisations throughout the city to avail of the training that is being offered.”
