EAT SAFE AWARD

The Eat Safe Award was launched by the Foods Standards Agency in June 2003 as a way of recognising food businesses that go beyond the requirements of current legislation and meet the highest standards of hygiene. Many consumers say that they have concerns about hygiene in food outlets. However, if a business displays the Eat Safe Logo (displayed below), you can be assured that they have a consistently good hygiene record.

Initually the award was limited to any catering establishment to which the public has access. However from April 2006 the scope has opened up to all catering businesses irrespective of whether or not they have public access.

Currently nineteen premises in the Lisburn City Council area display the Eat Safe Logo:

  • Lighters Restaurant, Lisburn Civic Centre, Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn.
  • Footprints Trading Ltd, 84A Colinmill, Dunmurry.
  • The Pheasant, 410 Upper Ballynahinch Road, Annahilt.
