Education

The Responsible Dog Ownership Campaign was launched in 1996 in response to an increasing number of dog fouling and straying complaints from members of the public.

As an integral part of our campaign we have been targeting school children, who are potentially the next generation of dog owners. Every year the Council runs a competition with prizes for both the children and for their school.

Ongoing/Future Education Programmes

  1. Continuation and expansion of the Schools Education Programme
  2. Community Roadshows
  3. Annual Fun Dog Show – Wallace Park
  4. Distribution of Free Poop Scoops
  5. Dog Fouling Awareness Days in local parks
  6. Continue working relationship with the Dogs Trust re Neuter/Spaying incentives.
