COUNCIL DOG KENNELS

All stray and unwanted dogs are housed in the Dog Kennels, Altona Industrial Estate, Hillsborough Old Road, Lisburn until such times as an owner reclaims his dog or the dogs are rehomed by the Wardens.  Over 80% of dogs that pass through the Kennels annually are rehomed or placed in registered dog sanctuaries for rehoming

Opening hours  

The Lisburn dog wardens are in attendance at the kennels between 12:30 - 14:30 Monday  - Friday. Dogs can however be viewed between 0930 - 1600 Monday  - Friday by appointment with the dog wardens.

Out of Hours

Outside normal office hours you can get assistance by telephoning 028 92600804. This service extends until 10pm every night.

Lost

If you have lost your dog please contact the Dog Wardens at :(028) 92509250. If your dog is in the Council Dog Kennels fees will be charged.

Unwanted

The dog wardens will collect unwanted dogs or you can bring an unwanted dog to the dog kennels.

Found

If you find a stray dog please contact the Dog Wardens at the aforementioned telephone number, giving a detailed description of the dog, the location, the date and approximate time the dog was found.

Charges at the Kennels

Sale of male/female dog  £15.00 + £5.00 (Licence Fee) = Total Cost: £20.00

Rate per day/dog at pound  £18.00 1st day  and   £8.00 each subsequent day
