BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND ALLIED SERVICES

The Business Development and Allied Services Section of  Building Control is responsible for business development and identifying business opportunities for existing services and the development of new services.

The Lisburn City Council Building Control Business Development Unit following the successful award of the Customer Service Excellence Mark by the Cabinet Office.

The Unit seeks to:

  • Fully integrate the range of services provided with the management information systems improving methods of working to add value to their delivery i.e. develop E-commerce and the delivery of on line/web-based services.
  • Focus upon the needs of our customers and provide an open, transparent and approachable service.
  • Develop and expand the service provision by building strategic alliances and partnerships to achieve a first class service.
  • Develop and explore working partnerships, such as:
    • The partnership with Northgate in the creation of the On line Property Certification Wizard.
    • We are at present working with Orange to visit the real possibility of working remotely on line from office.
    • In early spring we hope to launch our Full Plan Electronic Application, on line. 

The Unit is also responsible for the administration and control of the following allied services:

  • Licensing of Petroleum Stations
  • Street Naming and Numbering
  • Inspection of Dangerous Structures
  • Property Conveyancing Certificates
  • Digital Archiving of Historical Plan Data
