BUILDING CONTROL SURVEYORS

Building control surveyors main duties include checking drawings supplied by designers to ensure that they meet the building regulations. Often prior to these being submitted the building control surveyor and designer meet to discuss proposals. This allows the designer to receive guidance at an early stage.

Areas

Once work commences on site the building control surveyor will carry out a series of inspections, as the building is constructed, to ensure that the building is being correctly constructed. As part of this process the building control surveyor can also expect to liaise with bodies such as the Fire Service, Environmental Health and Structural Engineers.
