INTERNAL AUDIT/RISK MANAGEMENT/INSURANCE

The overall function of the Internal Audit Section is to ensure ratepayers get value for their money from expenditure by Lisburn City Council. The Section provides assurances to the Management Team regarding the efficient operation of financial controls.

Risk Management plays a significant role for the Internal Audit Section. The steering group co-ordinates the Risk Management Initiative and trains Council Officers to identify risks and develop continuity plans.

Internal Audit is also responsible for insurance cover for the Council and minimising the insurance premium costs where possible.
