FINANCIAL SERVICES The Finance and IT Services Unit provides a full range of services to the Council including: budgetary control; co-ordination of annual revenue and capital estimates; preparation of annual financial accounts; investment of funds; paying suppliers and debtor control. The Section is also responsible for the Council's IT function and all areas of risk management. SERVICES The Council's Information Technology Unit is also located in Financial Services. The IT Unit has the following responsibilities: - Performs backups and ensures the smooth running of the Council's IT infrastructure
- Purchases and arranges the leasing of IT hardware and software on behalf of Council employees
- Manages the support and helpdesk contracts for servers, PCs, printers and operating system software
- Project management and support for the rollout of major software installations
- Managing the hosting and functioning of the Council website
- Coordination of the Council's e-Business development
- Provision and research of technical advice in the area of IT for Council employees
