CITY OF LISBURN - 2010 INITIATIVE
Lisburn's current status and formidable achievements have not just happened. The award of city status is testament to the unprecedented development of the area in recent years. This development was brought about by the vision and commitment of many organisations and individuals across the City.
Lisburn City Council, along with its partner, the Lisburn Partnership, will continue this vision and commitment through the City of Lisburn – 2010 Initiative, known previously as Vision for the Borough 2010.
The aim of the initiative is quite simple - to define a positive vision for the City and its people in the year 2010 and to encourage individuals and organisations across the City to work together to achieve this common goal.
Six key themes were identified following consultation and are being actioned through various partnerships, project teams and Council committees:
- Community Well-being
- Democracy and Governance
- Keeping Lisburn at Work
- Lisburn City Identity
- Places and Movement
- The Next Generation
The themes identified in Lisburn Partnership's recent Strategy mirror these themes.
