 3rd Brownlee Primary School Craft Fair
 – Wallace Avenue, Lisburn.  7pm – 9pm.  Craft stalls,
     games and prizes, face painting and a visit by Santa. Admission free, everyone welcome. 
 3rd Lisburn Historical Society – “Songs of the Weavers”.  Traditional singer and song collector,
     Maurice Leyden, will entertain with songs and tales of customs associated with the weavers.  The 
     Irish Linen Centre/Lisburn Museum at 7.30pm.
 5th Annual Christmas Charity Fair – Hillsborough Visitor Information Centre 1.30pm – 3.30pm.

New exhibition opening early December 2014 – A Gift to the People of Lisburn : 130 years of 
Wallace Park – celebrating the rich history of the park and the erection of the Wallace Park Heritage
Trail, a series of historic panels through the park.
The Lisburn – Wanganui Friendship – the life and work of John Balance, a Glenavy native and
New Zealand’s first liberal Prime Minister, is celebrated in a display in the foyer.
Flax to Fabric – the story of Irish Linen – permanent exhibition including skilled demonstrations of
spinning and weaving, visitors can see the finest costume, dress and household linens dating from a
past when Irish linen from Lisburn was known worldwide.
Digital Film Archive – A century of moving images from Northern Ireland is available free to all
members of the public. Explore the past through film & TV footage. The DFA computer is located in
the museum foyer.
