The 30th Anniversary 2012 Coca-Cola Lisburn Half-Marathon, 10K and Fun Run attracted over 6,000 runners many of whom raised thousands of pounds for a variety of worthwhile causes whilst running along side many of Irelands best distance runners.

After a battle that lasted the best part of 13 miles Dublin Athlete Gary O’Hanlon broke away from Connor Magill to win in a time of 1:09:45. Regular participant Delfim Primentel took third place in 1:18:09.
In the Ladies race three time winner and Irish Olympian Pauline Curley from Tullamore made it a fourth success in a time of 1:20:25 which was well in front of 2nd and 3rd place runners Julie Balmer and Donna Evans.
The winner of the wheelchair race in a time of 1:07:16 was Paul Hannan.
The 10K was won by former Irish Champion and multiple Lisburn Winner, Joe McAllister in a time off 31:38 who held of City of Derry athlete Greg Roberts by two seconds who in turn just finished in front of Jarlath Falls.
In the Ladies race it was once again a case of “Experience Counting” as multiple winner Briege Connolly won in 36:03. Briege finished well in front of local Lisburn Athlete Judith Lowry who held of Jessica Craig in a time of 38:08.
The wheelchair winner was multiple Half Marathon Winner Jim Corbett.
A highlight of the evening was the Community 3K Fun Run which attracted thousands of runners many in various types of fancy dress that added greatly to the feel-good factor of the evening. Timothy McCracken was first across the Fun Run Finishing Line with Rebecca Wallace the First Female Finisher.

Coca Cola’s Gillian Shields said:” Coca-Cola has been involved in the Half Marathon for a number of years and is proud to be part of an event which is focussed just as much on community spirit and fun as it is on competitive running. This was another hugely successful event for Lisburn City Council with over 6,000 competitors and a growing number of spectators. I would like to extend my congratulations to all the organisers, participants and winners and I look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
The Chairman of the Leisure Services Committee, Councillor Thomas Beckett, said: ”We enjoyed a great evening and the event attracted thousands of runners and it was gratifying to see so many children and young people entering the races. Well done to everyone who took part.”
