ARTS AWARDS CELEBRATE 27 YEARS OF CREATIVITY IN LISBURN

20 schools and 120 children have been presented with awards in the 27th Annual Lisburn Arts Advisory Committee's Schools' Arts Competition at Island Arts Centre.

Take part and win fantastic cash prizes for your school!

Budding young artists from primary and secondary schools from across Lisburn City are invited to take part in the 27th City School's Arts Competition.

The competition aims to bring the city's most inspiring arts and artists out of the classroom and into the gallery to celebrate art for children by children working in a wide range of media including visual, performance and creative arts.

With over 50,000 entries over the years, the response from teachers, children, parents and local communities has been very enthusiastic and demonstrates what creative, talented and imaginative young people we have in our schools.

First, second, third prize winners and special merit award winners will be presented with their awards at a special ceremony hosted by his Worshipful the Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Trevor Lunn at Island Arts Centre in May 07.

Deadline 23 March 07 for Visual Arts & Literature and up to 30 May 07 for Drama.

Winning entries will be displayed at a special exhibition in Gallery 2 at Island Arts Centre in May 07.
