LISBURN CITY BUSINESS AWARDS

The very best of Lisburn businesses gathered to celebrate excellence and innovation tonight (Tuesday 19 April 2011) at the 4th Lisburn City Business Awards, with main sponsor Lisburn City Council.

Held at the Lagan Valley Island Centre, the glittering ceremony saw eleven companies collecting awards across twelve hotly contested categories. The awards host, comedian William Caulfield steered the 240 strong audience through the evening’s packed programme which included musical performances by X Factor finalist Ruth Lorenzo.

Customer Services – Retail Award - McCall's

The winner of the Customer Service Retail Award was McCalls of Lisburn. Directors Chris McCall and Alastair McCall were presented with the award by Councillor Allan Ewart,  Chairman of Lisburn City Centre Management, sponsor of the category.

Young Entrepreneur Award - Philip McLorinan

The winner of the Young Entrepreneur Award was Philip McLorinan from Dunmurry Dental Practise presented by Kerrie McIlwaine from sponsors First Trust Bank.

Best Export Business - Brown's Coachworks

The winner of the Best Export Business Award was Brian Brown, MD of Browns Coachworks, presented by Aidan Ferguson, Invest NI

Best Tourist Amenity - LeisurePlex

The Best Tourist Amenity Award was Brendan Courtney, Assistant Director of Leisure Services (Sports Facilities), Jim Murray, Jim McCurry, Martin Bushe and Cllr David Archer, Chairman Leisure Services Committee of the Lagan Valley LeisurePlex presented by Councillor Jenny Palmer, chairman of Economic Development Committee.

Best New Business- Daly Renewables

The Best New Business was Ryan Daly, MD of Daly Renewables presented by Nick Fenton, Director of Lisburn Enterprise Organization.

Business Growth Award - Decora Blind Systems

The Business Growth Award was awarded to Decora Blind Systems. Stuart Dickson, MD was presented with the award by Noel Dick from Montupet

Best Licensed Eating Establishment -The Parson's Nose

The Best Licensed Eating Establishment was The Parson's Nose.  Caitriona McGeough, general manager and David Porter, assistant general manager were presented with the award by the then Chairman of Economic Development Committee, Councillor Jenny Palmer,

Best Non- Licensed Eating Establishment - The Avenue Coffee Shop.

The Best Non- Licensed Eating Establishment was The Avenue Coffee Shop. Patrick Ruddell, Linda Tate, Paula Jennings, Chief Officer, Susie Hanna, Carolyn Kerr, Project Co-ordinator and Lesley Graham of Stepping Stones NI received the award from Councillor Jenny Palmer, the then Chairman of Economic Development Committee

Innovation Award - Reach EPS

The Innovation Award winner was Reach EPS. Chris Leitch, Managing Director received the award from Freda Casey and Jonathan Wallace from the Office of Innovation at the Universityof Ulster

The Best Social Enterprise Award was given to Voluntary Service Lisburn. Pamela Neill, Chief Executive, Anna Cahill, Marketing Executive and Mark Cooke, Co-ordinator, received the award from the then Mayor of Lisburn Alderman Paul Porter

Best Service Sector Business - Fire Defence

The Best Service Sector Business Award was received by Lynne and Jonathan McCabe, Directors of Fire Defence and presented by Michelle Lestas, Partner of Lestas Consulting
